In 2010, I walked in to a local Crossfit affiliate not knowing it was a Crossfit box, nor had I ever heard of Crossfit. It was a Saturday partner WOD and I recall how crushed I was after that WOD. I immediately signed up!

In May of 2011, I earned my CF-L1 and began coaching part-time and there was no looking back. I followed up by earning my CF-L2 in June of 2016 and I also have my Crossfit Mobility certification.

Although I have a full-time job, Crossfit is my passion! I’m a gym rat and will gladly spend hours in the gym working out, helping other athletes reach their goals or just hanging out talking and having a beer. The two things that I love the most about Crossfit is both suffering with and spending casual time with the community. The saying goes that pain shared is pain divided and happiness shared is happiness multiplied. I believe that whole-heartedly and that is what keeps me coming back day after day. I love helping others reach their maximum potential!

As far as my goals and aspirations for my Crossfit career are concerned, they are to always be open to learn and pass that knowledge on, as well as to continually grow as a coach and athlete. Ultimately it would be great to make a trip to the Crossfit Games as a competitor. In 2015, I placed 44th in the world in my age group and in 2016 I was 74th. I have some work to do, but I feel my goal is within reach.

My wife Michelle and I live in Aurora and have been married for twenty years. We share the desire to stay fit and eat well! We have two daughters, Allyssa and Caitlin. I love to travel out west and Colorado is my dream home! Michelle and I recently fell in love with Cancun and that is now an annual destination for us! We’re excited for the opportunities at Crossfit Oswego and look forward to meeting everyone!
